Quick links
What is the Whole Brain® Journey?
A self-paced series of 8 micro-learning modules (with an optional 9th for sharing) in the Herrmann Platform. The modules include videos, activities, and reflections that teach the Whole Brain® Thinking model and guide a Thinker through an HBDI® debrief experience.
Use it:
-
Instead of a CP-led debrief (self-paced path), or
-
Alongside a CP-led session as prep and reinforcement.
Certified Practitioner FAQs
How is the Journey different from a traditional CP-led debrief?
| Topic | CP-led Path | Self-paced Journey |
|---|---|---|
| Overall flow | CP delivers the full debrief after assessment. | Thinker completes assessment in Module 1, then progresses through modules. |
| Content design | Set by CP. | 8–9 multimedia modules mirroring a debrief experience. |
| Learning phases | Determined by CP. | 1) Whole Brain® basics 2) My HBDI® results 3) Apply my results |
| Total time | ~60–90 min (varies by CP). | ~90–120 min (varies by learner pace). |
| Access | Depends on scheduling. | Anytime, anywhere; pause/resume on any device. |
Can I offer both paths?
You can, but choose one per invitation to avoid confusion. Aim for consistency within a cohort.
Do existing Thinkers keep their progress?
Yes. Thinkers who completed earlier modules keep access and can continue with the current Journey. Their HBDI® results may already be unlocked.
Can Thinkers unlock with a code instead of completing modules?
Yes. When creating an invitation, choose either:
-
E-learning required to unlock, or
-
Unlock via code (you provide the code).
Can I mix options within one invitation?
No. All Thinkers in the same invitation use the same access option.
How do I check a Thinker’s progress?
-
Search For → Thinkers: open an individual Thinker to view progress, or
-
Invitations → “E-learning Progress”: view progress for all Thinkers in that invitation.
Can I unlock results before a Thinker finishes the modules?
Yes. Three ways:
-
Search For → Thinkers → Unlock (per person)
-
Search For → Invitations → Edit → Unlock (all in that invitation)
-
Admin (Thinkers tab) → Unlock (per person)
Note: Unlocks are permanent; you cannot re-lock results.
Will Thinkers still have access to the modules after being unlocked?
Yes. They can continue and revisit the learning at any time.
Can I offer the Journey to someone who completed an HBDI® in the past?
Yes. They may need to create a Platform account if their assessment predates the current system. Herrmann Support can help align records.
Does the Journey change pricing or contracts?
If you have a current Herrmann Platform contract, the Journey is included. If you need contract details, contact your Herrmann representative.
Thinker FAQs
How long does the Journey take?
Plan for about 90–120 minutes total, depending on your pace. You can complete it in one sitting or over time.
When will my HBDI® results unlock?
Portions unlock as you progress. Most Thinkers see full results after ~45 minutes of learning and activities, or sooner if your CP provides an unlock code.
Can I pause and come back later?
Yes. Your progress is saved. Return to My Journey and continue with the next step.
How do I find where I left off?
Look for the next step that isn’t marked 100% complete in My Journey.
Do I have to share my HBDI® profile?
Sharing is encouraged but optional. You’ll see more from colleagues once you share your own profile.
Can I choose who sees my profile?
Profiles are shared with others in your organization who have also shared. You can’t select individual viewers.
Are my notes private?
Your reflections are yours by default. Some activities offer an “add to profile” or “share” choice—you control that, and you can edit later.
Can I change entries or rewatch videos?
Yes. You can update entries and rewatch videos any time.
