How to use the Team Effectiveness Dashboard

🧭 How It Works

The Herrmann® Team Effectiveness Dashboard is a short, 10-minute online assessment designed to help teams reflect on how they work together — their alignment, communication, and effectiveness.

Participation is managed by your HBDI® Certified Practitioner, who will send an email invitation with a unique link to complete the assessment. Once everyone has participated:

  • Your Practitioner reviews the results and shares a Team Effectiveness Dashboard Report.

  • During a team session, your Practitioner will guide a discussion to help your team understand its strengths, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.

  • The insights are connected to your team’s HBDI® Team Profile to explore how thinking styles influence perceptions and collaboration.

💡 Tip: The Dashboard is most powerful when repeated periodically with the same team to track progress and measure shifts in team dynamics.

⚙️ How to Complete the Assessment

  1. Open the email invitation sent by your Practitioner.

  2. Click the link to start the assessment and log in (or create a Herrmann account using your email).

  3. Complete all 37 questions, thinking about your team as a whole.

  4. Submit your responses; your answers are included anonymously in your team’s combined results.

👥 Who Participates

The Team Effectiveness Dashboard is completed by members of intact or cross-functional teams that share a common goal. It’s typically used with:

  • Teams that have been working together for at least 2 months (4–16 members)

  • Teams with a new leader or project

  • Teams experiencing challenges, transitions, or misalignment

Leaders involved may include:

  • Department heads, managers, or team leads

  • HR or Learning & Development professionals

  • Anyone responsible for improving team collaboration and effectiveness

📈 Why It Matters

The Team Effectiveness Dashboard helps your team:

  • Understand how team members view priorities and challenges

  • Identify areas of alignment and opportunity

  • Discuss how thinking preferences affect teamwork

  • Develop concrete actions to improve collaboration and performance

💡 Repeating the assessment over time allows your team to see how its focus and effectiveness evolve.
