Getting Started
What is the Whole Brain® AI Playbook?
It’s a personalized AI guide tuned to your HBDI® profile and, when available, the profile of a collaborator you choose. You get a document - not just another open chat window - that shows you how to use AI as a true 'Thinking Partner.' It provides pre-calibrated prompts and notes on exactly where your cognitive styles and your collaborator's will diverge.
Is this for me?
If you have an HBDI® profile in our system, yes. You’ll get the most out of it if you lead people with mixed thinking preferences, or if AI adoption on your team has stalled or feels uneven. It is specifically designed to help teams move past common adoption bottlenecks like technical fumbling, psychological fear, or workflow stagnation. Your Whole Brain® AI Playbook will help you by framing AI around how the human brain actually works.
How is this different from ChatGPT or Copilot?
ChatGPT and Copilot give the same generic answers because AI models are natively analytical, logical, and factual, which often neglects relational, structured, or experimental viewpoints. Your playbook is calibrated to your unique style using 40 years of Herrmann cognitive research. While generic AI is fine for basic tactical tasks, your playbook dynamically scales prompts across all four cognitive frequencies: Analytical, Practical, Relational, and Experimental to give you a strategic depth standard tools structurally cannot mimic.
Do I need to be good at AI to use this?
No. The prompts come pre-written. Copy them into ChatGPT, Claude, or whatever tool you already use. If you’ve never used AI before, this is a low-friction starting point. If you’re already advanced, the value is the personalised calibration.
Using your playbook
How long does it take?
During this initial phase, the playbooks are sent off to be generated, and you will receive an email once they’re completed and delivered to your portal. The whole process takes only a minute or two, but other factors can extend it to 3–5 minutes.
What if I don’t have a clear “challenge”?
You don’t need a clear challenge. The primary prompt is 'What are you working on right now?' - any everyday scenario works. It could be an upcoming Project Kickoff, a complex Planning Meeting, a team Retrospective, or navigating a stuck collaborator. Small, highly specific scenarios yield the most powerful, actionable outputs.
Can I use it if no one I work with is in the system yet?
Yes. Your playbook still calibrates itself against your thinking and produces useful guidance. The paired and team experience unlocks as your collaborators do an HBDI® and opt in to share their profile with you. The system will either guide you on how to use AI as your collaborator or suggest which kind of Thinker would be an ideal collaborator for you and your unique challenge.
Why don’t I see a specific colleague in my collaborator list?
Your colleague has either not yet completed an HBDI® or has not opted to share their profile with you or with your organisation. HBDI® data is personal and we never show it without explicit consent. If you want to work with them in a playbook, ask them to complete an HBDI® and update their sharing preferences — they’ll see a prompt during onboarding and can update it any time in their profile under Sharing & Permissions.
Privacy and data
Who can see my HBDI® data in the system?
Only you, unless you explicitly opt in to share — either with your full organisation or with specific teams you’re a part of. You can change this any time. We treat HBDI® data as personal data under GDPR and equivalent regulations worldwide.
Who sees what I write in the challenge field?
The text you enter is used to generate your playbook and is stored in your history. It’s not shared outside Herrmann and not visible to other Thinkers, your Certified Practitioner, or your company. Playbooks are not shareable at this time, so even if someone gets your playbook URL, they won’t be able to see it.
